PHOTO FENCE

One of the first things you notice when driving through Darwin’s suburbs are the fences: concrete pillars, recycled wood, bamboo walls, old cattle grates and the quintessential black plastic-covered cyclone mesh. But why so many high fences? This outdoor photography exhibition, installed on one of Darwin’s most visible CBD cyclone fences explored how our fascination with barriers shapes our community and our sense of belonging.
